Our clients often ask what product is best for them. We hope to help you answer that question below. If you are unfamiliar with PPF you might want to read our last blog, where we talked about why Paint Protection Film (PPF) is your car's best friend. If you would like to read it click here. Using either of these products will greatly improve your vehicle’s factory finish.
Paint Protection Film - Paint Protection Film is also known as “Clear Bra” is a virtually invisible film that is applied to your vehicle. It is constructed of advanced elastomeric polymers that are designed to protect your paint from road debris, discoloration, swirl marks, and light scratches that can occur through ordinary washing, drying, and daily driving. Some Paint Protection Films even have self-healing properties such as XPEL Ultimate Plus. Additionally, contaminants like bug splatter, bird droppings, sap, and road tar are easier to remove. Preserve the finish of your vehicle with PPF and keep your vehicle looking newer longer.
Ceramic Coatings - Ceramic Coatings are a nanoscopic exterior automotive protective paint treatment. They come in a liquid form that is applied after your paint has been properly prepared. They offer a durable, high-gloss, slick to the touch, chemical-resistant layer to your vehicle. Essentially, it is a sacrificial surface that protects your clear coat. These unique properties make contaminants such as tree sap, tar, and hard water spots easier to remove. They also make washing your car easier and protect the paint from harmful UV rays.

Choosing which is best for you truly depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for hydrophobic protection that makes washing your car easier, both are a great choice. If you are wanting features such as self-healing, UV protection, corrosive chemicals, scratches, and impact damage protection (rock chips) then PPF is for you. If you want protection from UV rays, corrosive chemicals, and light scratches with a slick, glossy finish, then you want a Ceramic Coating. If you want the benefits of the durable PPF and high-gloss finish of a Ceramic Coating then you are looking for a combination of the two.
It’s not uncommon to choose both products. While we always recommend installing PPF over your high-impact areas such as the front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, headlights, door cups, door edges, and rocker panels. It’s not always economical to protect the entire vehicle. That is why many of our customers choose our Full Front package in combination with one of our three Ceramic Coating offerings. This gives you the best of both worlds without breaking the bank! Hopefully, you have found this article helpful.
